Location! Location! Location! Welcome to the most adorable 1940's bungalow; situated perfectly in one of Austin's most sought after and historic neighborhoods, Hyde Park. You are minutes from all the action, good ATX eats, nightlife and shopping!
With a modern bohemian decor throughout combined with original wood floors you will feel the all comforts of home. Our home is not a duplex, you have access to the entire home. This Space is unique because it offers a cosy home to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. However, at the same time you are in the middle of all the action.
This super cute 2 bed/1 bath is just what you need to enjoy all comforts of Austin living. Enjoy your coffee on the front porch or a glass of wine before heading out for the day/night.
Work from home or keep the family entertained at home with high speed wifi and a smart TV. Stream your favorites on Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and more!
There is a keypad on the door for easy entry. Fans in bedrooms and a full kitchen which includes a fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, stove and microwave. Central AC & Heat controlled with Nest. Large flat-screen TV in the living with a Ruku, making it easy to sign into your own apps to watch your favorite movies or shows. Plus 1 gig internet powered by GFiber for those who are looking for the perfect place to stay while visiting Austin for work. Plus washer and dryer available in house.
You may park up to two vehicles in the driveway. If you need extra space, there should be plenty of street parking. The neighbors are great, and out of respect for them, please try to park directly in front of our bungalow or across the street.
This space is ideal for those who want the to embrace the true ATX experience. Whether you are traveling with a group of friends, family, or solo you will be minutes from any Austin festival, UT Footballs games, Austin FC games, hike/bike trails, Downtown, Mueller District, Pease Park, the bustling North Loop District plus all of the hot spots, shopping and hip eateries - you truly can't be in a better location!

You have access to the entire home. Hyde Park was founded in 1891, so you can imagine the amount of cool history it holds. Specifically to this house, you will notice there are two front doors. Yes, this is a standalone home not a duplex.
Why you ask? Well here is a fun fact; back in 1940ís they added a second front door to the bungalow to allow the owners to rent out a room if needed. Whether it was for a stronger to help cover household cost, or a young couple just getting started, the two doors allowed for a bit more separation and privacy because the second front door allowed easy access to a bedroom without disturbing the homeowners.
If you need recommendations, we'll be available to provide them otherwise you'll have complete privacy. We'll provide you with access information before you arrive, so you'll have super quick and easy entry.
After booking you'll be provided a link where you can purchase upgrades to your booking such as early check-in and late check-out, additional cleanings, and more that will make your Austin experience even better!
We don't charge a security deposit! Where many hosts charge over $500, and where you as the guest risk them not returning your deposit – Austin Vacay remains guest-centric by charging a one-time, non-refundable fee (already included in your booking price) which provides up to $400 of coverage towards unintentional rental property damages (subject to plan terms and conditions). This means a lower cost to book, and because accidents happen, protection against costly charges. Plan terms and conditions provided by request after booking.

The Hyde Park neighborhood is a well-known residential and historic district in central Austin.
Scooters (Lime & Bird) as well as Lyft and Uber are the best ways to get around Austin, especially this close to everything. However, there are also a lot of public transportation options in this area (see CapMetro's website).
Other things to note
We have security cameras outside of our home at the entrances for added security and your peace of mind. We do not have any cameras inside of the home, respecting our guests' privacy.
1) No smoking allowed (of any kind) ($350 fine)
2) No loud noises after 10 PM per city ordinance
3) No events or parties. Additional day guests are $40/person/day
4) No pets allowed
5) The cleaning that you pay for is to clean the home prior to your stay. If you do not pick up after yourself sufficiently when you check out, you may be charged an additional cleaning fee - price depends on how long it takes to clean up after you. We don't expect you to scrub the home, but simply pick up your trash and put everything where you found it
6) Minimum age requirement is 25
7) If you do not check out on time (11AM) you will be charged an additional night

Good for what it was
My partner and I enjoyed our week stay at 501 W 41st. The location was fantastic and allowed us to get anywhere in town swiftly. My only issues stemmed from some maintenance items: Dishwasher, Garbage Disposal, and the Back Door were not operable. The kitchen was a bit sparse, if you plan on leveraging the kitchen I highly advise bringing your own spices (only iodized salt and fine pepper available.) It was also somewhat odd that the remote controlled overhead lights (3 all together) triggered each other, so you could turn the light on in the Living Room and it would turn the light on the bedroom. Not a travesty, just inconvenient. Also please put a trashcan in the bathroom! Ok, gripes and improvements aside, the location really was great and was nice walking to local bars and eateries just a short jaunt up Guadalupe. Old Hyde Park just has great walkability and very pleasant vibe!March 2022
